This week is our first foray into the world of our novel Animal Farm.
Monday: Discuss grammar packet (adjective clauses and parallel construction; see me for copies); begin coverage of Animal Farm's allegory through THIS SLIDESHOW.
Tuesday: Read Animal Farm Chapter 1 and complete STUDY GUIDE.
Wednesday: Discuss Chapter 1; make connections to allegory (review slideshow). Read Chapter 2 and begin STUDY GUIDE.
Thursday: Finish Chapter 2 and study guide; begin reading chapters 3-4. Discuss Chapter 2 allegorical connections.
Friday: Complete Chapter 3 STUDY GUIDE and Chapter 4 STUDY GUIDE. Make further allegorical connections.
Next week, we will weave in grammar and writing skills work along with progressing with Animal Farm. On Thursday, there will be a quiz over the first three chapters. (The following week, we will quiz over Chapters 4-6.) On Friday, we will not have school due to Parent Teacher Conferences.
Where to find Animal Farm from home (since we have class sets of the text only):
