Today, students were able to finish their Character Analysis Charts from last week and begin official drafting for their Literary Analysis Essays over "The Cask of Amontillado." All sections received a handout with due dates and guidelines for the essay, plus an optional framework to use as an outline for the essay. Important to note, however, is the fact that this outline only has room for one chunk body paragraphs; the requirement on this assignment will be two-chunk body paragraphs.
Attached below are both handouts. Students will have Thursday and Friday to finish their rough drafts in class before the due date on Monday the 6th. (The final draft is due Tuesday the 14th submitted to Turnitin.com.)
Resources for crafting thesis statements, using MLA format, typing MLA in various word processors, and the like can all be found under the "Resources" tab on this website.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, essay writing and all other assignments will be interrupted for 9th Grade Benchmarks to be administered in class.
