On Monday, all sections will have a few minutes to study before taking their poetry terms quizzes. After they are finished with that, they will begin reading Act I of Romeo and Juliet individually and silently.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday are days of CogAT testing in class (as per the counselors). After students finish testing, they may read a book of their choice quietly.
On Thursday we will pick up with Act I of R&J and discuss any confusion so far (in addition to important points). Students will be required to "translate" the Prologue into their own words, line by line, and turn that assignment in on Thursday.
After we discuss translations, we will check out No Fear Shakespeare, which is a great resource for those who are struggling with Shakespeare's diction (word choice), and we will refer to it in class later on as well. Here is the link: No Fear Shakespeare
