Today, I will be at a Marzano Training event all day, and all sections will have a substitute. All sections will need to finish yesterday's study guides if they have not already, read the rest of Part Two of The Odyssey individually, and complete the final two study guides. Those are attached with Tuesday's study guides under Tuesday's post. (They will ALL be due on Thursday.)
After completing those study guides in complete sentences, students should begin/complete the vocabulary activity on page 788 of their textbooks, BUT they should use the list/word bank from Part Two of The Odyssey, which can be found on page 789.
Both the vocabulary activity and the study guides will be due on Thursday. Students will have a vocabulary quiz over both sets of words on Friday the 5th, so the remainder of Thursday will be spent discussing the entire Odyssey and its vocabulary, themes, archetypes, etc.
If students finish the study guides early, they may begin questions 1-11 on page 813 of the textbook. Naturally, they need to be done in complete sentences. There will be additional class time to work on these.
The link below will lead to the online text, but the "Homework" page for Part Two does not correspond to the textbook questions. Those can be made up by absent students upon return to class.
